Merry Christmas

Are you ready for Christmas? Do you have all of your last minute shopping done? I haven't really done any shopping because we only do for the boys. They told grandma that they wanted "CASH". Matt wants to buy a dirt bike. Right, he is going to have to save a lot of money for that one. Ethan wants to go go-cart racing. They both have big dreams.
Jake has chosen his technical school and been accepted so that he knows what he is going to do after graduation. He wanted this ariat coat. He has the jeans, boots, and even shirts in that brand.
Grandma has been fitting in basketball games with Matt. We hung out together this past Wednesday. He gave me a tutorial on how to use my tablet that they got me. It is amazing how the younger generation knows so much about electronics. While we went and visited his grandpa at the nursing home, he down loaded four audio books.  Whether he listens or reads, he is learning. I stayed for supper then we went to see the Christmas lights.
Had a scare today with my other half. He had a bump on his hand that he decide he didn't like so he used the edge of his scissors to take the top off of it. Needless to say, it bled and it took a little while for it to stop. I don't know what he was thinking.  I had a melt down which partially because when my mother passed away it was the week before Christmas and my dad on Christmas Day when he passed away and with my other half in hospice, it was a bit much. Maybe, I had been holding it in for too long and needed the tears to release some of the stress.
We had some mixed rain and sleet this morning while I was out then the sun came out for a while this afternoon. At least it wasn't like the last Friday when we had people stranded on the highways and streets because of the ice. I stayed home for four days. I just don't have enough hours in a day at times to do everything that I want to do.
The family will all be together on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day will probably be spent at the nursing home weather permitting. We are suppose to hit 60 degrees. I hope the weather man is right.
I f you are going to be traveling, please be safe. Enjoy the holiday and we all will probably eat too much. Take Care.

Time is Flying

The time is flying and I don't know where it is going. It is already the 2nd Day of December.  I know it has gotten colder and they are saying maybe snow for tomorrow. It depends on how warm it gets.
I have been busy between the nursing home and working on a baby quilt. It is for a little boy. It may not take as long as the last one to embroidery because you aren't changing colors like I had to previously.

The tea towels are my latest off the hoop. I have to find  some pre-quilted baby bibs. The company I got them from previously is no longer carrying them. I have a Christmas order to get done, but I have to find the bib first. I have the pattern they want. I just make whatever I feel like at the time. It is keeping my sanity right now with everything that is going on.
One of my many nieces hit the big 50th today. I got to have lunch with her  and her husband which was a pleasant surprise. I didn't know they were there until I heard my name. We don't see family that often unless it is funerals or weddings. Her daughter had a surprise party for her this evening.
It will be a hit and miss here on my blog as I just don't have enough hours in the day for everything that I want to do. I appreciate all of the prayers that are said for us. I do believe that is what has kept us going for a long time in dealing with all of the ups and downs. I try to stay positive, but it is hard at times. Never knowing what tomorrow is going to bring you take every day you get. Only God knows what will happen next.
The first basketball game is next week. It is basically the same boys that played together last year with the same coach. He doesn't yell at the boys, but he does tell them what they did wrong so that they can learn from their mistakes. They will play their heart out for him. I am just glad he is their coach for another year.
I miss all of you and I am going to find some time to visit each of you. It will just take me a while. I am saying prayers for you all and reading blogs. I don't always leave a message. Take care. Stay warm and safe.

Tough Decisions

I am glad that I got to get away for a few days with my kids in October. They took me to Branson for staying with my 12-year-old grandson, who tells me he was going to drive me nuts before the summer is over. He doesn't, but he does make life interesting.
We got a wake of call when we went to see the neurologist about hubby's tremors that I  wasn't liking and wanted to know if they were related to Parkinson's which has been ruled out. That had been said more than once at the nursing home by the medical staff. To see the hands shake even using both when trying to take a drink was hard to watch. Unfortunately, it is related to his liver which is in the process of shutting down. Then to get a phone call where he refused to get out of bed and wouldn't eat breakfast or lunch.  I knew it was time to put him in hospice. It is bringing in extra eyes to watch what is going on. They will re-evaluate him in 6 months and if he hasn't shown any improvement then he will remain in hospice because we don't know when the liver is going to completely shut down. We know the portal vein is blocked and he has a blood clot in the liver. They can't put him on blood thinners because of another issue. He has so many strikes against him. His bed was like a roller coaster and uncomfortable when I went to see him.. I just wanted to see if I could get him a new bed to see if that would help with his hip that hurts so that he could sleep better and not take pain pills. Hospice  got him the new bed and a new wheelchair that will actually tilt back so his head isn't hanging down when he falls asleep in it. They were  brought in the night we had signed the paperwork.  I will be popping in and out when I have time which is limited at the present time.
I think I will be making another baby quilt like the one above after I get through my next craft show. The baby is due in February. I know who I made it for dearly loved it.
I tried some new tea towels to see how they would do and I sent both to a new home. I thought the black horses looked really nice on the yellow plaid. It is getting late so I need to call it a day, but I wanted to let you know what I have been doing . Prayers are greatly appreciated. Take care.

ALL I WANT

All I want is for people to do their job without trying to make to look like they are really busy. Standing around talking instead of helping people, who need assistance. I help if I can because I want them taken care of.
I have been missing for a while. I have been very busy getting ready for a couple of craft shows and doctor appointments. We know that my hubby does not have Parkinson's disease causing the tremors. Some days they are bad, but it still goes back to his liver. We know that his days are going to be numbered  but try not to think about it. He has a blood clot in his liver and the portal vein is blocked. They can't give him blood thinners because his blood is already too thin. He has been sick for a long time.
My trees don't look like the picture which was taken last year. The leaves are just turning brown and falling off. There is some color, but not like we have had. This morning it is 39 degrees. It is no wonder people are sick because you don't know how to dress. I have been dressing in layers because by afternoon it warms up. Yesterday was beautiful football weather. Today I am going to my youngest grandson's beef burger dinner at the church. He called to remind grandma. My boys keep grandma very busy with their activities. Basketball games will be starting here before too much longer. They are having practices right now.
I went and had lunch with nine of my classmates I graduated from college with a long time ago. We had so much fun catching up with one and another. It gave me a change of scenery that I needed. It was a beautiful day and the drive wasn't bad. I did see a wreck coming home. A guy lost control of his motorcycle and went off the road. I didn't stop because of all of the help that he had. When he went around me, he was speeding. I wondered where the highway patrol was because I wanted him pulled over for speeding.
My youngest son is going to be 50 this month. It is beginning to make me feel old with the ages of the kids and grandkids. They tell me you are only as old as you feel some days I feel its especially if it's cool damp weather. My bones don't like that kind of weather.
My oldest grandson has been accepted at the tech school that he wants to attend. He just has to get his money saved and work harder to earn it.  This college is a little closer to home. He wants to work on diesel equipment  trucks, farm equipment and etc.
I will try to check in a little more often, but I only have two weeks between craft shows and I have to have inventory to sell. Take care Sending you hugs and prayers. You can never have too many prayers.

I'M BACK

The trees are starting to turn in our area and hopefully will be pretty. The cluster of trees is from my back yard last year, but I don't know about this year. They haven't started to turn yet. Some have in our area.
The fingers have been very busy with custom orders, trying to get ready for a craft show, and dealing with issues involving my other half.
As of this coming Wednesday, the 19th we will be married 53 years. While I look back over all those years and look at the kids and grandkids, I
wonder where the time has gone. It is like a roller coaster, you have good days and then there are those that make you wonder what next. Our daughter just celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary this past Wednesday.
My custom motorcycle guy has been delivered and they are happy with it. It always makes me feel privileged when I get to do something like that. It was their kit I just did the hand work.

My friendship quilt has been done for a while, but I couldn't get the picture to load so I retook the picture with my other one. It took much to long to do, but it required a lot of changing colors. I lose patience at times when you do two stitches then you have to change, but I do like the way that it turned out.
We finally got the results of his ultrasound and how I hate the words stable for his conditioned. He is still here and it will have been 17 years since he first got sick at the end of November. You learn a lot, how to question doctors and even how to fire them. I keep my sanity with spending time with my grandsons watching them. Basketball season will soon be here and then I will go watch my middle one play.
My middle grandson is going to be 12 this month. He still thinks that he should be able to do some of the things that big brother does who is 17. My youngest tells me he is the same age as the middle one which is true for roughly two months. It is funny to say you have two 11 years olds. The family checks on me each day and last weekend I had breakfast with my oldest. I am happy that he is closer to home now.
I am going to go road tripping here before  very many days. I hope the fall color will be showing. It is in some areas. I haven't told my other half because he probably won't like me being gone. He thinks that I should be there every day. Sometimes he sleeps and doesn't really know I am there.  I will tell him when I get ready to go. I just need some time away from everything.
Well, I hope all is well with you all. Take care.

This and That

It has been busy with doctor appointments with  my hubby. He still has  more to go. He has been sick with this horrible cough and what they put him on is causing more problems.  It makes you really wonder about who is taking care of them. I get so frustrated and feel like it is just lip service.
Today all he wanted to do was sleep and his answers were not making sense. The nurse put a hold on the medication they put him on and some of his new problems may be linked to that medication.
Today my oldest grandson got to be Johnny Frye and lead off the Pony Express 5K run. He had a police motorcycle escort in front of him so they didn't have to worry about vehicles coming through while this was taking place.  The picture of the arena is of our horse club's arena at sunset.
The last event I think this year will be a fun show strictly games. Some I am curious to see such as the catalog race. I have never seen that before.
We have had rain this evening and are suppose to have storms going into tomorrow.
I sometimes wonder just what our world is coming to with all that is going on. I don't know about you all, but I will be so glad when the election is over with. It is though they think we aren't smart enough to make up our own minds.
The fingers have been busy and have to stay that way. My embroidery, I think at times is the best stress reliever. Even to help lower my blood pressure, but who knows.
Why can't people admit when they make a mistake instead of blaming it on everybody else? I was told if you made a mistake you say that you did. Well, enough of this and that just wanted you to know I am still around just busy. Take care/

I am still here

I am still here just have had a lot going on in my life that required my attention. We have had between 6-9 inches of rain and it is still raining. I wish it would stop. Water in basements and some flash flooding, plus flooding. The rain just came too fast.
The summer went entirely too  fast and the months seem to fly by with a blink of an eye. I didn't  really care for the heat, but then we can't be choosey.
The fingers have been kept busy to help keep my sanity or at least that is what I say. I have had two shots put in my knee because of arthritis but is not bad enough to require a knee replacement. I had a scare with my eyes because of them blurring and couldn't figure out. It turned out to be there was scar tissue behind my implants from the cataract surgery. They did a laser treatment on both eyes and my vision is back to where it was before.
I just hope my doctor appointment tomorrow goes okay. I need some answers about where I need to try to keep my blood pressure. I don't want it to get to low.
Hubby is doing as well as can be expected. They are basically just trying to maintain him. His ammonia level keeps going up so it takes longer for him to think what he wants to say, plus gets confused at times. It is hard to watch. I keep praying for a miracle. He still thinks that he can get his hip redone and walk again. Even though we have had four doctors telling him that it is too risky and he could be in worse condition than he is now or lose him on the operating table. I told him that I do not want to go to another doctor.
Tears fall in private except when I get terribly mad and then I cry.
My grandson is taking me on a road trip again this year next month. He is making plans on what we are doing. They couldn't get a cabin like we had last year so we are staying in a condo. As it stands right now, I think my daughter and her family are going to go also. It should be fun to have the family together.
We were all together last weekend and had supper cooked over the fire in a dutch oven. It is called a harvest meal and is so good. My daughter in law made her version of apple turnovers. She took crescent rolls,
put brown sugar over them. Then rolled a slice of apple in each one sprinkling them with cinnamon than  baking them in the oven. They went really fast.

I thought I would show you some of my handiwork. I really must close for now. Take care my friends.

It has been awhile

I have been away from my blog for a while. It has been a very busy time for me with all that has been happening at my house. To bring you up to date with some of what is going on in my life. I was having some blurring in my eyesight. I thought it was maybe my glasses, but it turned out that I had scar tissue behind the implants they did when I had my cataract surgery. They did laser treatments and my vision has come back to where it should be. I still have some floaters which they say will go away. They are little black spots and before they go away they get little strings hanging down from them. I am just thankful that they got my problem resolved.
Hubby is going to go see another doctor about his hip and leg. He doesn't want to accept that the risk is too great and it could be worse than it is now. I got told that even though I have his power of attorney for his health I can't stop him from doing what he wants to do. He is going to have to make the decision because I won't do it anymore. He has good days and bad. He thinks now that school has started that I should spend every day at the nursing home, but I need some time for myself.
I have a baby quilt that I am working on at the present time. It is taking longer than I thought. I can understand why the kit was the price it was. Some of the thread is only 5 strand and part of the stamp pattern is missing. Needless to say, it is a learning experience. They furnished the kit and I am doing the embroidering.
I turned three-quarters of a century the 19th of this month. Family and friends were there for me in wishing me Happy birthday. I spent a quiet day. My daughter in law had me out for supper which was cooked outside over the fire in a dutch oven. She even made peach cobbler for dessert.
The hands are kept busy embroidering. I have to retake some of my pictures to show you what I have been doing. I just thought I had better let you know that I am o.k.
We had our family reunion this year. Six of the eight remaining brothers and sisters were there. It was an enjoyable day catching up with family. My oldest is now living back in the area closer to home. He moved back the 4th of July weekend.  It will be easier for everybody concerned. The kids think that they all need to be closer.
I will try to be around a little more often now that horse show season is over excepting the awards supper which won't be until October.
Hope you all are well. Take care . The storms are in the area tonight. We have a severe storm watch out until 11 o'clock.

Are you Ready??

Are you ready for the weekend? The fireworks have started already in the neighborhood. I hate to say what it will be like in the next few days, but probably very noisy. We are supposed to have rain this Saturday and Sunday. We need the rain to keep the fireworks from starting a fire.
My oldest will be in either late Friday night or Saturday and be starting a new job the following week. I am just happy that he will be closer to home.
Summer school officially comes to a close today. My middle grandson has learned about the building that he will be in when school starts in the fall or rather I should say August. School keeps starting earlier and earlier every year. Both boys are looking forward to going to the Pony Express Day camp. They will be learning the history that is not being taught in the schools or at least in our area.
Do you have plans for the 4th of July?  My daughter is having us to her house for a cookout and the boys will be shooting off fireworks. I just know I will be glad when it is over.
We found out that hubby is losing his hearing. He has lost 80 percent in one ear and 30 percent in the other ear. My grandson that wears the hearing aid says that his hearing is worse than his. I told him if his grandson could wear one he could also.  I was told that we could get help with hearing aids with him being in the nursing home. He is feeling neglected because I don't stay as long as I use to. The boys only will sit there for so long and then they want to go. I took his youngest to see him twice this month.
Tonight is their fireworks celebration at the nursing home. They will serve them hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and root beer floats. I can see his blood sugars now.  I will take my grandson home and after his mom gets home to go back for that. If I don't hubby will be mad. It will make it a long day for me.
We don't have horse shows until this next weekend the 9th and 10th of July. He is a little disappointed because he won't get to go to state because of some new rule changes. I think they are going to go watch the other kids show. I may go with them so that I can say I have been there once.
I have been busy with the boys and my embroidering. I will show you what I have been doing after it reaches its new home.
Take care. Be careful. Have a safe 4th of July.

IS IT HOT WHERE YOU LIVE???

Has it been hot where you live? We have had several days that have been uncomfortable. We could sure use some rain because everything is getting so dry.
I am sure glad my grandson got the hay put up before the worse heat hit. He got to drive the tractor instead of stacking or throwing bales, but did get sunburned. I didn't get sunburned this last weekend at the horse show. I got wind burned.
My son has been showing Juliet in halter because it seems like that is when my grandson has to go to work. His friend shows her in the riding classed. He got to pick on some of his fellow employee's the other evening because that is where he wanted to go for his birthday. It doesn't seem like he should be 17 years old. I can remember the day he was borned
Matt and tea biscuit were having a discussion before the first class at one of the horse shows. Each time he shows him it gets a little better. This past week he was learning to ride him without stirups and no reins. He was using his legs. I got to see the video.
I will be heading out to get him from school in a while.
I felt sorry for the lady who was a little older then me that couldn't remember where she parked her car at the grocery store. The store employee was going to help her What age or when do we relinquish our driving privileges? I know that it would be hard to do. I try to park where there is a row number or something that I can relate to when I go to my car. Of course, I could set off the alarm on my car to help me find it.
I will have two boys coming up instead of one. I don't think I will have a problem. My oldest will be coming closer to home in about another week. He got the job  that he applied for which makes me very happy. He is looking forward to moving back to this area. He get to see family more often which his nephews can't wait. They are marking off calendars.
I am glad that we didn't have a ball game the night it was so hot and there wasn't any air moving. I just thought that I would check in and let you know that I am still alive. Busy with the grandsons, hubby, and other things.
Still try to go to the nursing home about every day for a short visit before I go to pick up our middle grandson. Yesterday, my oldest grandson stopped in to see him and he was surprised. I told him you never knew who was going to drop by.
Well it is time to go so I will check in with you all later. Take care.

A Boy and A Horse

Horse show season officially got under way the 21st of May. Meet T-biscuit who my grandson is showing this summer. He is a big horse for a little boy, who I am spending time with this summer. Right now he is going to summer school and loving it. He is officially in the 6th grade and getting use to the building and how he changes class rooms for the fall. They go just like a regular class day will be.
The first show he got 3 seconds and 1 third. He has learned to lope on this horse which he really likes to do now. His 4 H leader and horse lesson teacher picked the right horse for him. He is showing again this weekend so we are praying for good weather and no rain. I, also, will be going to a ball game. My youngest grandson is playing. I didn't think I was going to have a conflict, but all the rain we got caused several games to be made up and this will be one of them. I will make it.
The holiday weekend went much to fast. My oldest flew in on Friday and I was his chauffeur for the weekend. I even got to take him to the airport on Monday. When he was in the service, I would cry every time I put him on the plane, but I didn't do that this time. I only told him I wanted to park on the top level and not in the parking garage. You could see what was around you better and didn't have to worry about other things.  I am very careful when I go by myself with everything that goes on in our city and other places any more.
Maybe he might be moving closer to home, he did have a job interview when he flew in on Friday. We will just have to wait and see. Right now he works 13 days straight and 1day off. He just wants to be closer to home and family.
We went to his brother's Saturday evening while he was in. He spent the night with my grandson above. He gave up his bed for his Uncle. My grandson helped his Uncle build the fire so my daughter-in-law could make what I call a harvest meal in her dutch oven over the fire. It is potatoes, sweet potatoes, green and red peppers, onions, with polish sausage all cooked together. Sometimes she adds green beans and corn to it also. Then she made a jello cake. Things that she knows my oldest likes. She made him cinnamon rolls for one thing for breakfast. They don't help the blood sugar, but they were good for a change. She likes to cook. She is running the cook shack this summer for our horse shows.
It was nice on Sunday so we went and saw his dad. We sat outside in the gazebo so that he wouldn't have an asthma attack from the smells in the nursing home. I went in and brought his dad out to the gazebo. They had a nice visit. I don't spend as much time at the nursing home right now. My grandson and I pop in every now and then or I pop in when I go to pick him up at school.
We ate several different places while he was in town. The time just seemed to fly by so fast. I don't know where the month of May went. June is off and running. My oldest grandson turns 17 the 12th of June. The fall will bring his senior year of high school. I hate to admit the kids are growing up. It makes me feel like I am getting old. It is something that happens to all of us.
I wanted you all to know I am still hear and I do read your blog's just don't leave a comment at times. Take care.

Memorial Weelemd Surprise

It has been a while since I have been here. I have been very busy with custom orders, dealing with hubby's problems, and started staying with my 11 year old grandson while brother works.
Today has been a day of storms. So far we have been lucky and had heavy rain, small  hail, and some flash flooding. Looking at the radar weather map, it will be a bumpy night. I hate the storms when it rains with all of the thunder and lightening at night.
I wasn't suppose to know, but it slipped out that my oldest son is flying home tomorrow and will be here until Monday. We haven't seen him since Christmas. He is coming in for a job interview which I am praying that he gets. He will be closer to home and family. Right now he works 13 days and gets one day off. Of course, his nephews are on cloud 9 that he is coming home. My middle grandson wants him to spend the night with him. He will even give him his bed. He  will only get to see a video of his nephew loping his horse.
We got in our first horse show of the year last Saturday. Matt got 3 seconds and one third with T biscuit. He did rather well since he hasn't been riding this horse that long. I got to take him one night to his lesson. We got his lesson done and his saddle put away just as it started to rain. It rained all the way back to town. He likes loping now. He started in the round pen and gradually got to go to the big arena. His dad showed Juliet in two classes and got third on both. Big brother had to work so he didn't get to show. Juliet is his horse and that was why dad showed her. Hopefully he will get to do so the next show if we get to have it. We need for the rain to stop.
My fingers have been busy with making towels for a wedding shower gift. The wedding is a week from Sunday. It is outside so they hope that it doesn't rain, but you can't tell the way they have popped up today. The shower is this weekend. It was suppose to be next spring but they moved it up. The groom enlisted in the service and he wanted his bride to be to have the spouse benefits.
I have made five nurse's Saving Lives tea towels. I am hoping to put one in my etsy shop. The others have gone as graduation and wedding gifts. We have a couple of nurses, a doctor, and a physical therapist in the family now.  It makes you feel good when they put the effort into those fields.
It is getting late and I have to get up early in the morning so I will say goodnight. I am still here.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom's out there. If your mother is still living, take time to give her a call even if you haven't always got along. You don't realize how much you will miss her until she is gone. You wish you could see her just one more time for her to show you something or give advise.
My grandson in blue waiting for someone to get him home at one of his ball games. They have won every game they have played so far. This week we will see how they play when they have three games back to back. Of course grandma has to go watch. It is fun to see how many grandparents that are in the audience that I know watching theirs play. Fun time. School is out for him this next week. The school year has flown. If he makes the A honor roll, he wants to go to Lambert's for supper. He is trying really hard. They have a copy of his birth certificate they take when he is playing because he looks older then 10. His mom is my wake up call. She calls every morning to check on me as she is going to work.
The fingers have been busy with custom orders while I sit at the nursing home. I took yesterday to stay home to get some things done, but other then that I have been there every day trying to get them to listen to me that there is a problem going on. I get so tired of hearing that it is his age. We are going to have a swallowing test done on Monday to see if when he swallows it goes to where it should. He has been coughing and it hurts when he coughs. I want to know if he has pneumonia. I know his ammonia level is back up. They were suppose to do blood work to see if that is going back down. If it is not one thing, it is another. It just gets very frustrating.
My oldest grandson finally has a job working in the evening busing tables at a restaurant. He works usually Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. His schedule changes so he has to check to see when he has to work. He has to help pay for the repairs to his truck. At least he is doing a lot of it under supervision at school which ends this next week for the summer. He will be able to mow my yard in the afternoon because he will only have class in the morning. I get to stay with his brother this summer. We will have fun.
My middle grandson got his hearing aid and it has helped with the ringing that he was having constant in his ear. He only wears it at school which is fine at the present because of the newness.
His accomplishment is he has learned to lope his horse he is going to show this summer. He keeps improving with each lesson. I am anxious to watch the boys ride this summer. They start the 21st of this month.
I have been trying to visit you all, but time is limited right now. I hope you all understand and say a prayer for us that we get some answers. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

FEW CHANGES SOME GOOD AND SOME QUESTIONABLE.

We went to see the Liver doctor this past week. We had some changes for example of getting him physical therapy. If he can't move his legs and arms, then they are to physically move them for him. He is to have gylcernia {sp} with his meals so if he does not eat what they fix at least he will have something to off set his insulin. It will also help to build back some things that are low that he needs to help his open sores on his arm heal. I still don't believe what they tell me about them. It starts like a bruise then opens up and bleeds. We go forward and then backward. They put him on cough syrup because of the coughing he started not even two days after we  were at the doctor's office. You wonder what will happen next. I know that I wonder what has happen to common sense. If someone is sitting by the bathroom door in a wheelchair, would common sense tell you they needed to go if it is by the nurses station.
He did walk today while he was at physical therapy which we will take every step that he can make. He plays out, but then I would too if I hadn't been able to exercise. You need some every day.
The picture above is the center of my table cloth that I finished. It is ecru in color with scallop edges. It has roses in the corners and the middle along the edge. I came across it when I was looking for something else so I finished it.
I went to my youngest grandson's ballgame Saturday. They won and he had quite a fan club watching. He is so happy because he gets to be on the school patrol in the  fall. He is learning how to do it right now. I get to take him to school this coming Thursday for his mom. His other grandparents have a doctor appointment.
My middle grandson gets his hearing aid tomorrow. They  hope it will block out the constant ringing he has right now. He is learning to lope and he says that he is doing good. I will be anxious to see him do it They are having a clinic this Saturday. I will probably watch for a while then I have a ball game. I am going to be a busy grandma. He is going to summer school and excited about it. He gets to pick out his locker, plus it will help him know where his classes are going to be in fall. It will give him something to do for a month. We will be hanging together again this summer.
My oldest will be working in the hay fields. He gets to help with the mowing and raking. He got his truck fixed. It turned into more then they first thought, but by doing it at the shop at school. He only had to pay for the parts. His instructor was supervising.
My fingers are busy to give me other things to think about. The storm went through fast last night. We didn't get much rain, but they have forecast severe weather for tomorrow. We shall see.
Hope all is well with you all. Take care.

Been Missing

Life isn't always easy when you are a caregiver even when someone else is taking care of your love one. How to make them listen to your concerns and give you answers and just not lip service.
You really wonder just why some people have gone into the business of taking care of people. Some sure don't like cleaning up after accidents in the bed when they don't get there quick enough to get them to the bathroom.  Last night, he was sick and they got to deal with it. I went to get his medicine that he needed that was on the table in the dining area. I didn't want it thrown away because it is very expensive.
I had a couple of days that I got a break with picking up one of my grandsons after school. Mom was gone and dad couldn't get in town quick enough to get him. I don't have a problem with helping  when needed. My oldest grandson and his mom went to check out a technical college that he was interested in. He did all of the driving for mom and he was a tired son when he got home. They were impressed with the school they saw on their tour of the college. they were impressed with what they learned about the school with more paper work to fill out. It is instate so there won't be the added expense of out of state tuition. They start early getting kids signed up. In one area, they have 95 signed up, but only 35 will be accepted. It is not in the area that he is looking at. They were told if they weren't coming to class then they needed bother with the paper work. They are there to learn and be able to get a job when they are finished.  He takes his ACT this week. I am not ready for him to be a senior this fall.  He turns 17 this June. I remember being at the hospital when he was born. Of course you spoil them all.
My youngest grandson made the school patrol for the next school year. He is excited about it. He is my baseball player. We should soon have a schedule so I know when he is playing so that I can go watch.
My middle grandson is learning to lope which he has to do this year when he shows. I am looking forward to going to watch. The fingers are staying busy to help keep my sanity.
Hope all is well with you all. We have a doctor appointment that I hope I will get some answers and not just lip service. Take care.

UPDATED HAPPENINGS FROM MY HOUSE

The ups and downs of life. Just when you think maybe you can breathe a little easier, you get thrown a monkey wrench. Hubby is trying my patience. His body trying to adjust to what is happening. The doctor says it is because he has had such high readings for quite a while and now they are much lower. Who is to blame for the readings getting out of control. It makes you really wonder?? He can be very trying at times and he won't remember any of it especially if he has been a sleep and you wake him up. They have to understand that this is not the norm for him, but whether they do at times makes you wonder. Today he has refused to get dressed or get out of bed. We go see the liver doctor on the 20th of this month.
The first horse event takes place tomorrow. It is called Reining 101 which is to give the kids an idea of what is involved in reining classes and to see if it is something they want to do. I am going to go watch because I want to know more about it and how it is judged so I can understand it better.
I had my lower GI on Wednesday. The prep for it was something else. They have changed it from what it used to be, but I got sick trying to drink the last of it. I am not the only one. Then there was a problem finding a vein because of being dehydrated. I know Tuesday night I sure didn't get any sleep. I didn't get to drive again until yesterday. My daughter kept my car and brought it home later in the evening. I will get the results on Monday about the polyps that were removed. The doctor didn't feel it was anything to worry about. I slept the afternoon away after she took me to lunch at The Corner Cafe and brought me home. I made up for the sleep that I didn't get the night before.
I have been working on another tea towel present. It will make the third one that I have made for nurses, It keeps the fingers busy and gives me something else to think about beside my other half who is being a pain today. I really don't know what to do with him at the moment. It makes me mad to the point where I want to hit him and I know that is not good. He won't try some of the things that I have suggested.
I have several things for later in the month. I will be staying with my middle grandson while mom, dad, and his brother go to check out a college where he might go to school. They start checking out colleges earlier now days. I guess I don't want to admit that he is going to be a senior next year. One morning I will have to take my youngest grandson to school for my daughter. Baseball season is getting ready to start for him. They are already having practice. There is only 22 teams in his age division. They definitely won't play the same team twice that is for sure.
Starting May 23rd I will be hanging out with my middle grandson for the summer. His brother will be working and he is not old enough to stay by himself even though he thinks that he is. It will be a fun summer for the both of us.
Well enough of my rambling. Take care.

HAPPY EASTER

Have you made your plans for Easter? Do you get yourself flowers if no one else does it for you?  We are going to celebrate Easter tomorrow instead of Sunday that way my daughter and her family can go to her other side of the house. I will spend Easter Sunday at the nursing home with hubby. He has good days and bad depending on what is going on with him. We are having weekly blood draws so that they can monitor his ammonia level better. It is slowly coming back down.
Tomorrow  the boys are going to hunt Easter Eggs. The oldest will be looking for his because they will have gas money in them. That way he can't say that he is to old.
They fitted my middle one with a hearing aid to try. He will wear it for a month and then he goes back to the see the doctor. They don't want them investing in one until then because they are expensive. His ear is ringing all of the time which has to be bothersome for him. He and I get to hang together on Monday because brother has school in the afternoon. I am going to be staying with him this summer. He thinks he is old enough to stay by himself, but not hardly.
Haven't we been having some crazy weather? My heart and prayers go out to those in Kansas and Oklahoma who are suffering because of the devastating wild fires. I think about those that are fighting the fires. We have family both who are trained to do that. I always say prayers for them that they stay safe.
My fingers have been staying very busy embroidering. I have to try to keep something else to think about right now.
These are a few that I have finished in the last two weeks. They don't take long when you spend two or three hours doing nothing else, but this. The kitty cat will hearts was part of a wedding shower gift. I made four all kitty cats. Later on I will do some that are all puppies for another wedding.
Have you ever heard of a wine tasting bridal shower?
That was a new one for me.  My daughter said it was very different.  Then they wanted you to buy some to help the bride to be to stock her wine rack.
The bird singing is part of a house warming gift. She loves Spring Things and what better way then listen to the birds sing.  Her other one is Plant-Grow-bloom which her flowers are the color of Dahlias . I made them burgundy with yellow centers.
The chicken scratch edge sets both of them off. I don't  know if that is the proper name or not, but that is what I call it.

I made two for a nurse that is graduating in May.  Some of the Saving Lives I tried to keep as close to what they really looked liked.

The bottom Kitty cat and apron tea towels were for the fun and are going to be going in my etsy shop. If you have an etsy shop, have they changed the way it looks. Have you checked it out and do you like what they want to to do.

Saving Lives tea towel shows the border that I referred to up above.

It is a little long and I just thought I would  check in. Have a wonderful Easter and if you are traveling have a safe journey. If you can't be with family, pick up the phone and call them. Phone calls can mean a lot to people.

   Take care.
